Gone Sledding

This past Saturday we decided it would be a good day to hit the hill with our sleds. It was right around freezing rather than crazy cold and we'd had some fairly fresh snow (although there was still a good solid layer of ice, the top layer was good and fluffy) it was a tad windy but bundled up it didn't feel too bad. We had a great time. Nobody got hurt, and Charlie slept all bundled up in the van the entire time (not to worry, the van was within 20 feet of us:)
"Abby get out of the picture."
:)

I cringed the first time John took Ben down on his back, it didn't seem like such a great idea to me, it worked out great though.
Wish I could go back up the hill this way.

January 2013

Of course every new year begins by celebrating Ben. I can't believe he's three!

The party, small and perfect for Ben (he doesn't love crowds). At the time he was crazy about Blues Clues. All he really wanted was a brown (chocolate) Blues Clues cake.

Charlie turned four months weighing in at 16.01 lbs, and measuring 26 7/8" putting him at 70 percentile for weight and 98 percentile for height! What!? When I called John to tell him his response was "are you sure he's our?" If he didn't look just like the others I'd wonder too.
Our brown bear.

Had his first taste of food. He was more interested in eating the bib than the food. I decided to wait a few more weeks.

December 2012

You might be wondering what happened to November. Well apparently nothing happened because it looks like we didn't take a single picture in November. December of course is all about Christmas. We had a nice quiet Christmas at home and enjoyed just relaxing with each other.

Kids tree (I'm the first to admit that I'm one of those anal people that likes to have everything on my tree matching. Of course I want the kids ornaments displayed. The solution, a tree all their own and they love it.)

The big tree. In case you consider a white pine in the future, they're beautiful but extremely prickly, hence the gloves. (If you're curious of the final product, just check out past years, it hasn't changed).

The decor. I made new stockings this year as Ben and Charlie have joined our family since I made the last ones. I love these stockings.

Visiting with Santa at our church Christmas party.

Christmas day.

A couple other things to note....

Ben wanted to build a snowman with me while the kids were at school. The snow was really dry so the technique was a bit different:) We had to pile the snow and kind of sculpt it. He was as happy as can be with the result.

This little guy turned three months.
